Lesson HORSES

Everbright Equestrian has a wonderfully diverse group of lesson horses. We are very fortunate to be able to have a variety of sizes, skill levels, personalities and disciplines.

Almost every lesson horse we have on property, has gone off property and competed in all kinds of shows: Eventing, Show Jumping, Hunters, Dressage, and even Barrels and Poles! When they are not competing or teaching lesson - you will most likely find them eating treats.

Meet the extended family below! If you’d like to come meet the crew and take a lesson, sign-up here: Link to Form

The everyday heros of Everbright

Deja Vu

“Deja” aka “Deja Mae” is a 2002 14.2hh Arabian/Quarter Horse cross mare.

Deja is a very talented and been there, done that pony who has spent most of her life with one of Annie’s best friends since childhood. Deja spent her early years going on overnight trail rides all over North Carolina and hacking out on country rds and in crop fields. Later in life, Deja moved to TN to join the Everbright family. Since then she has had a successful show career in eventing at Starter and Beginner Novice level and is now packing our kids around in lessons and fox hunting on the weekends!

Velcro and Laces

“Laycee” is the heart and soul of our lesson program and as such is loved by everyone. She will always have a home at Everbright with Ross and Annie.

Laycee is a 2010 15.1hh American Quarter Horse Mare. Laycee was originally a barrel and speed event horse when Annie fell in love with her. We then taught Laycee to jump and she loved it! When Laycee isn’t teaching lessons, you might find her packing Ross around the trails.

Little Jemimah Pannie Cakes

“Jemimah” is the cutest, sassiest, and laziest mini ever. She was born in 2003 and is right about 30” tall at the shoulder. Jemimah is one of our best confidence builders for first time riders. She is wonderful for learning grooming and leading skills and can often be found wandering loose around the barn hunting food.

Just Another John

“John” is one of the newest additions to our lesson program. He is an off the track thoroughbred adopted through Second Stride, Inc in KY after his racing career ended. John is a 2014 model gelding who measures right at 16.2hh. He raced 34 times over 4 years and won $35k. He was not a super successful racehorse. He is very very quiet and sweet and wants to please. John is still learning the ins and outs of life after the track, but he is learning so quickly and is already a favorite around the barn!

To Infinity and Beyond

“Chico” is a 2008 Grade paint pony gelding standing right at 13.2hh. Chico is definitely a crowd favorite! His natural balance and comfortable way of going is a huge asset to our lesson program.

Chico has his quirks, but when he learns to trust you, he never stops trying his hardest.

Burt Macklin, FBI

“Macklin” is a 2007 model Grade gelding who stands right at 15.3hh. Mack-a-roon would much rather walk and trot than canter, and prefers to tort umps instead of jumping them, but is overall a cool dude. He is also a newer recruit and was used for trail riding previously. Macklin has enjoyed learning all the new things since arriving at EBE and has even been to a couple fox hunts! Mack is a cool dude and we are excited to have him as part of the EB family!
